The vulcanized rubber technology was invented at the end of the nineteenth century by Charles Goodyear, the American inventor has discovered that the latex obtained by some equatorial plants, if enriched with small percentages of sulfur and then heat-treated in the oven, is transformed into a substance, said vulcanized rubber, which proves perfectly resistant to mechanical stress and weathering.

After this discovery, many inventors and entrepreneurs throughout the industrialized world, began to exploit this invention.

Among them, Mr. Walter Martiny of Turin, which started in 1911 to manufacture vulcanized rubber products.

Initially his company took the name of "Walter Martiny Rubber Industry" then became "Superga" given the proximity to the famous basilica.

In the seventies, Superga starts production of branded footwear Superga Sport, characterized by the unmistakable mark of dovetail and in those years the league was named after beloved athletes like Adriano Panatta and Dino Zoff who, along with tennis Lea and other hazards, become the face of a popular advertising campaign.

In addition to advertising, Superga develops new products for sports, from basketball shoes to football ones, to the bicycle shoes and the G3 ski boots, developed in collaboration with the Munari company of Treviso.

Also on the Superga sea he has left its mark, creating a sailing shoe in 2007.
