Under Armor, Inc. is an American company that manufactures footwear, sports, and casual apparel.
The brand was founded on September 25, 1996 in Baltimore by Kevin Plank, a former American football player at the University of Maryland.
Playing in the full-back position, Plank couldn't understand how there was no way to avoid changing sweat-soaked shirts during each workout. Realizing that the compression pants he wore during training remained free of sweat, he began to produce synthetic fiber T-shirts.
He then extended his reach into various sports. He is the technical supplier of the Wales 15-a-side rugby team.
