Founded in 1920 in Buffalo, United States, by the German immigrant Ehrhardt, New Era Company exclusively manufactures and supplies the official baseball caps of all Major League teams and their affiliates. It also produces caps for the minor leagues, over 200 colleges and universities in the USA and other partners such as NHL and NBA. From April 2012 also it provides their caps to the National Football League.
The brand has become over the years, a reference accessory to the world of hip hop, rap and rock and entered the pop culture and lifestyle. In addition to the various American flagship store, New Era from 2007 opened its flagship store in London followed by Berlin and Birmingham.
Each year, New Era produces more than 30 million caps that are sold in more than 40 countries worldwide. The most popular color is navy blue and the most popular logo is that of the New York Yankees. Every year there are many collaborations and special editions coming out of the classical world of American sport.
