Isabel Marant was born in Paris in 1967. Her childhood travels in India, Asia, Africa and the Caribbean strongly influence her style and her passion for fashion.
After graduating, Isabel Marant began an internship with Michel Klein in 1987. In the following two years she collaborated with Bridget Yorke and assisted the artistic director Mark Ascoli, working on projects for Martine Sitbon, Chloè and Yohji Yamamoto.
In 1989 Marant launches a small jewelery collection and the following year he debuts with his mother with Twen, a knitwear brand.
Isabel Marant launches her personal brand in 1994: with the aim of creating clothes that she herself would buy, her models are inspired by the encounters of her childhood, the cool and simple style has infused her in military jackets, in simple minis dresses and elegant trousers.
In 1998, he created a new line in Japan, I * M and in 1999 debuted with Étoile at the Prêt-a-Porter Paris. In recent years, Isabel Marant also adds the kids line to her collections.
"Trendy with simplicity", the strength of Isabel Marant is knowing how to mix different elements, basic and super sensual lines at the same time. The eclectic designer does not like artifices: a pair of skinny pants, something over the top and finally comfortable and cool shoes. His fashion is a well-tried formula that can be summarized in a few codes and absorbs ethnic and street influences; a style with a bohemian and chic boyish touch, remaining profoundly French.
