Isabel Marant was born in Paris in 1967. Her childhood travels in India, Asia, Africa and the Caribbean strongly influence her style and her passion for fashion.
After graduating, Isabel Marant began an internship with Michel Klein in 1987. In the following two years she collaborated with Bridget Yorke and assisted the artistic director Mark Ascoli, working on projects for Martine Sitbon, Chloè and Yohji Yamamoto.
In 1989 Marant launches a small jewelery collection and the following year he debuts with his mother with Twen, a knitwear brand.
Isabel Marant launches her personal brand in 1994: with the aim of creating clothes that she herself would buy, her models are inspired by the encounters of her childhood, the cool and simple style has infused her in military jackets, in simple minis dresses and elegant trousers.
In 1998, he created a new line in Japan, I * M and in 1999 debuted with Étoile at the Prêt-a-Porter Paris. In recent years, Isabel Marant also adds the kids line to her collections.
"Trendy with simplicity", the strength of Isabel Marant is knowing how to mix different elements, basic and supersensual lines at the same time. Their iconic ruffle dresses, light oversize denim jacket, trenches and the over the knee leather boots, can perfectly be described as French bohemian and chic with boyish touch.
