In 2002 the Maison Margiela boutique was founded in Paris by the Belgian designer Martin Margiela. Indeed, the Maison was already founded in 1988, but only many years later, Margiela boutiques were opened all over the world.
In his creations, the stylist prefers the cult of impersonality. Margiela's dresses are created through the finest manufacturing of the pieces and the careful choice of fabrics. Inside the boutique it is possible to find collections of designer for men and women, but the Maison launched also a fragrance and collaborated creating a line of furniture and inaugurated its first Parisian hotel.
The style of clothing is daring and ambiguous: the Maison produces and sells haute couture, men's and women's clothing, handbags, footwear, jewelry, interior design and launched also a contemporary line, called MM6.
