Schiaparalien - fashion from Mars
With Schiaparelli, the Spring Summer 2024 Haute Couture was officially kicked off, offering a cosmic show inspired by the scientific studies of Elsa Schiaparelli's uncle, Giovanni Schiaparelli. Giovanni was the director of the Brera Observatory in Milan to whom we owe the coining of the term "Martian" and the discovery of a series of channels that mark the surface of Mars.
This is why the name "Schiaparalien": a collection that enters the alien world to explore the unknown and the fantastic with a fixed gaze on the original codes of the maison.

A real journey through the galaxies with baby-cyborgs and 3D dresses with exaggerated and surreal volumes with the aim of combining old embroidery techniques with technological artefacts, thus contrasting the past, present and future.
At the helm, creative director Daniel Roseberry takes us from Paris to the wilds of Texas, the place where he was born, paying homage to his roots, then catapulting us into the otherworldly.

A collection that focuses on spatial fascination, on boundless human curiosity in the constant search for new and technological progress but also on the concept of "home". In fact we can find elements referring to the western world such as bandanas, buckles, fringes and cowboy boots in a perfect dialogue with the Schiaparelli aesthetic.

A fashion show, which we can define in all respects as an experience, where all eyes were on the model Maggie Maurer, Daniel's muse, who wore a white tank top and trousers while cradling a robot child covered in Swarovski crystals and technological circuits. The next look, entitled “robot dress”, continued to explore this fusion of materials, then moving on to “creature” and “shapeshifter” dresses embellished with embroidery reminiscent of scales and scales.
“Objects composed of familiar parts that, combined, create something surprisingly new,” declared the creative director.

Thus, beings from another planet are born where fashion has more freedom of expression and not to adhere to a model accepted by society because it is homogenizing. The brand's further attempt is to research different approaches and if science has not yet succeeded, Daniel Roseberry, with his way of doing fashion, tries to imagine them.
A collection that pays homage to the alien obsession of the Schiaparelli family with a commitment to overcoming the boundaries of haute couture and a testimony of avant-garde.
