Born in 1942, Stuart A. Weitzman is the founder of the eponymous luxury footwear brand, Stuart Weitzman.
The shoe business has always been rooted in his family because his father, Seymour Weitzman was a well-known shoe manufacturer of the time. In the early 1960s, at the age of twenty, Stuart A. Weitzman began designing shoes for his father's label, carrying on the tradition and the legacy.
In 1958, Stuart A. Weitzman graduated from George W. Hewlett High School, followed his studies at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1963. Two years later, when his father died, Stuart and his brother Warren took control of the 'company. In 1972, although the label was owned by a Spanish company, Stuart continued to design shoes for the brand, and then subsequently he bought the market shares, maintaining the production in Spain.
The Stuart Weitzman label is recognized for its elegant design, sometimes eccentric, but always high-class, made with the utmost care and attention to details so much to become one of the most loved brands by Hollywood stars. In addition to shoes, the company also offers a range of wallets and bags.
For over three decades, Stuart A. Weitzman has been producing shoes that illuminates the imagination and the charm of women, experimenting and inventing new materials, shapes and techniques to create a product that is feminine and sexy but above all comfortable.
