Dries Van Noten, between creativity and experimentation

Dries Van Noten, the homonymous Belgian-born designer, acquires popularity in the international fashion scene, especially in the prêt-à-porter field, with a culturally heterogeneous style made of a mix of classic shapes and technological materials. His creations are mainly characterized by the use of ethnic prints, original fabrics and colours used for the realization of fluid dresses, wide skirts, soft jackets and scarves embroidered with folk techniques.

By inheriting the passion for fashion from his family of tailors and clothing dealers, Dries Van Noten decided to pursue the studies in this sector, and this led him to be one of the most successful designers among the "Six of Antwerp".

His career as a designer began in 1985 with the foundation of his fashion house and the debut on the London catwalks the next year, followed respectively in 1991 and 1993, by the men’s and women’s collection presentation during the Paris Fashion Week.

In his career, Dries Van Noten has always pursued the theory of a fashion that can offer his customers a sense of individuality, designing "piece by piece" collections. Thanks to this, he established himself as one of the most accessible designers, but with an anything-but-conventional style. The men’s and women’s lines are produced seasonally twice a year while the children’s collection is no longer available.

Nowadays the Antwerp-based brand currently boasts 18 flagship stores and over 500 stores worldwide.
