Damir Doma, romanticism and poetic minimalism.

Minimalist with tireless energy, Damir Doma is part of the scene of young international designers who are redefining the rules of our home fashion week. Beauty and poetry are at the heart of his collections, in which his personal aesthetic vision emphasise through details and contrasts that stand out through the absolute simplicity of his clothes. Menswear and womenswear mix each other in his works and materialize in a look consisting of oversized jackets, velvet suits, asymmetrical dresses and imperfectly cut t-shirts, where black and white are the predominant colors.

Damir Doma was born in 1981 in Croatia but grew up in the southern part of Germany. Damir studied at ESMOD in Berlin and graduated in 2004 cum laude for the best collection. The young designer then went to Antwerp, where he worked with his idols Raf Simons and Dirk Schoenberger. Particularly Simons broaded Damir’s conception of fashion and arts and helped him to create his own definite idea of aesthetics. In Fall-Winter 2006, Damir launched his own label, choosing Paris as base, where he stayed until 2014. In september 2015, he attended his first show in Milan, where now he decided to live.

For the designer, imperfection is the true essence of beauty. A beautiful book, an exhibition and everything around him are the core of his inspiration. Doma focuses all his creativity to conceive a style that reflects his mood and state of mind: romantic, poetic, sensitive and melancholic. Damir’s work is based on his love for materials and fabrics. Every single creation is elaborate, personal and unique.
