Altuzarra is an internationally renowned American brand, known for its very feminine style that blends French savoir-faire and American naturalness.
Joseph Altuzarra was born in Paris in 1983 from a Chinese-American mother and Basque father. Although he was born in the European fashion capital, he decides to move to New York to pursue his dreams. After completing his studies at Swarthmore College in Art and History of Art, he began to send curriculum, becoming apprentice of the famous designer Marc Jacobs. In 2005 he took on a position as a freelance designer for Proenza Schouler and received the teachings of Nicolas Caito, head of the atelier Rochas and Lanvin. Returning to Paris the following year, he became assistant to Riccardo Tisci, creative director of Givenchy.
In 2008, Joseph Altuzarra returned to the United States and decided to launch a collection in his name: the debut of Altuzarra clothes was considered by Vogue to be "grandiose and full of security". Since 2010, Altuzarra has won several awards, including Ecco Domani Award, the International Rising Star Fashion Group of the Year and the Swarovski Award for Womenswear Design.
Altuzarra has a typically French tailoring style, without ever forgetting the practical aspect of the clothes to fully satisfy the female universe.
