Stone Island opens new flagship store in Monaco
Stone Island expands in Germany and inaugurates the new flagship in Monaco, in the heart of the historic city center. The store has been designed and built according to the new retail concept created in collaboration with Samir Bantal of the Oma/amo studio, which combines the values of innovation and attention to the community, which have always distinguished the brand’s DNA.
The space, developed on 3 floors for a total area of 360 square meters, exhibits seasonal collections and lines Ghost, Marina and Stellina.
To the new design are added elements made specifically as a tribute to Monaco: an example is the local granite facade. On the ground floor, a red resin wall houses maxi screens that illustrate the various stages of the Stone Island manufacturing process, with an exhibition area that highlights three iconic pieces of the brand. In the basement there is a hub that aims to host events to bring together communities. Cork, which is burnt, sandblasted and coated, is the key element of interior design. The furnishings are instead made with shredded recycled paper and high pressure compressed resins that recall and reproduce the effect of cement.
To celebrate the new opening of Monaco, Stone Island has entrusted three guest designers with the creation of unique pieces for the store’s interior. Tim Hooijmans of De Studio has created aluminium lighting elements, recyclable and modular with the aim of reducing energy consumption, Tim Teven has designed stools for changing rooms, while Elvis Wesley has created an aluminum case to host exhibitors of special collectibles.
