Gucci versus counterfeiting
Reporting the news is the WWD, which reads that yesterday afternoon the maison Gucci returns to court to defend the brand from counterfeiting suing 3 American retailers: LORD & TAYLOR, SAM’S CLUB AND CENTURY 21.
"After a thorough investigation, Gucci confirms that it has taken legal action against Lord & Taylor, Sam’s Club and Century 21 for their role in marketing and selling counterfeit Gucci products [...] Gucci remains committed to protecting its customers from retailers who profit from selling counterfeit products".
The brand, claims to have purchased, as an investigative, some bags from the websites of Lord & Taylor and Sam’s Club, including a red "GG Marmont Metelassé Camera Bag" at a modest price of $ 1,555 and a "GG Marmont shoulder" at a price of $ 2,400. After careful analysis of the products, Gucci confirmed their counterfeiting.
In addition, the brand requires the court to oblige retailers to deliver counterfeit products for "seizure and possible destruction, without compensation".
Sam’s Club retailer defends its reputation by declaring to an American newspaper: "We expect our suppliers to provide authentic, quality products that meet the expectations of customers and members. Once Gucci informed us of their concerns, we removed these products from our clubs and website and put Gucci in touch with suppliers. We will respond to the complaint in court as we are entitled once we are notified".

Last June, the fashion house was able to obtain the decision to protect its 'green-red-green ribbon' by engaging over the years, with initiatives and projects, aimed at defending the intellectual property of the brand.
Gucci is one of the most counterfeit brands in the luxury fashion industry.
