Feben is the designer and founder of the homonymous brand, born in North Korea but raised in Sweden by an Ethiopian mother, ethnicity in which she recognizes herself, but based for years in London, where she founded her brand once she finished her studies at the prestigious Centre Saint Martins in 2020.

The designer is selected by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana through the project "Supported By" in collaboration with the renowned Creative Director Katie Grand.

The Speed collection made its debut last Sunday at Milano Fashion Week.

It is the result of a long work and a collaboration between the London studio of the designer, the craftsmen of Dolce & Gabbana and those of Accra in Ghana, who have long collaborated with the brand, making upcycled plastic beads with which the garments are decorated, jewelry and bags.

"Sustainability should mean that we can change the fashion system," says the designer, thus demonstrating her desire for change and the strong interest of the brand to be sustainable.

On the catwalk we see clothes that adapt to any physicality. "My Twist dress, with which I graduated, is created in a new way, in crushed velvet. I want a woman wearing Feben to feel like a work of art." The designer is inspired by the artist Simone Yvette Leight, who made a huge statue with a pointed dress, the idea was to create a 'soft' version, sewing by hand peaks that from a distance look hard but in reality is just knitted.

The effect that give her clothes is enveloping, give the body a feeling of security and redefine the three-dimensionality.

The animal prints are a tribute to the supporter brand Dolce & Gabbana, take on a significant role giving energy and seductive charm together with sandals with stilettos symbol of elegance and sensuality.

Accessories such as long tulle gloves and colorful tights give character and sophistication. We see them worn in the latest look also by Ashley Graham.

The collection was called Speed after a reflection of the designer:  “I was thinking how quickly you have to make a collection. You might use duct-tape if you did not have much around. It is ugly, but I thought, just let me find something beautiful in it! I was inspired by Isa Genzken, she enjoyed making colored strips of adhesive tape. I like to find that balance, to make fresh and captivating what can be ugly and unusual"

With this collection the London designer Feben shows us how our values, our inspirations and determination above all, give life to something beautiful, destined to leave its mark.
