Givenchy, the creation of personality.

Givenchy is a French company that produces clothing, accessories, perfumes and cosmetics, founded in 1952 by the designer Hubert de Givenchy. The collections, both men and women, offer garments for any occasion: t-shirts, dresses, formal suits, shoes, sneakers, bags and backpacks and even a Junior line for the little ones.

The designer Hubert de Givenchy founded the fashion house and directed it for over forty years. In the same year, he launched his first collection Les Séparables. Casual chic, aristocratic elegance and femininity all combined in the timeless world of Givenchy. Combining finesse and elegance, the designer ensured his designs and ateliers rose to the top and played a key role in international fashion.

In 1958, Givenchy expanded its scope with the launch of its first fragrance, L’Interdit, a product of the legendary friendship between Hubert de Givenchy and Audrey Hepburn. Ever since, Givenchy fragrances have continued to cultivate elegance and boldness, in order to enhance feminine beauty. Hubert de Givenchy retired in 1995, leaving his place to John Galliano, but he was replaced shortly afterwards by Alexander McQueen.

In 2001, the designer Julien Macdonald was named Artistic Director for the women's line, while in 2003 Ozwald Boateng was appointed the designer for the men's line.

In 2005 the Italian designer Riccardo Tisci became creative director of the maison and rewrote the style of the brand with religious symbols, fetishism and a genuine passion for spectacular dresses. In the spring of 2017, for the first time a woman, the designer Clare Waight-Keller, took on the creative responsibility of the ready-to-wear for women and men, accessories and high fashion collections. From 2020, however, the prestigious role of fashion designer of the French fashion house is held by Matthew Williams, which aimed to combine the past, present and future of the brand's history, mixing the codes of the maison in the men's and women's collections in a symbolic link between utility and luxury.

Givenchy is expanding overseas and plans to open over twenty boutiques a year throughout the world, in particular in United States, in the Middle East, in Europe and in Asia. Givenchy boutiques will be opened in all the capital cities of the world and in the very best locations: from New York to Tokyo, and in Milan, Miami and London.
